What Makes Baking Soda a Healthy Deodorizer
Baking soda, less than 2 dollars a box makes a fine deodorant and is great for scrubbing the bathtub (among other things). As a deodorant just take a small teaspoon or two and pat your under arms. If you find it mildly irritating you may add water to the baking soda then rub onto your under arms.
Health Benefits of Using Baking Soda for Deodorant
It isn’t an antiperspirant which is a wonderful thing. Sweating is an efficient and important way for your body to release toxins. Perspiration allows metabolic and chemical toxins to escape from your body, as a form of gentle detoxification. Most antiperspirants contain aluminum, which is a heavy metal and a subject of controversy due to its possible relationship to Alzheimer’s Disease. Antiperspirants are best avoided.
Cleaning Skin with Baking Soda
Baking soda also is abrasive enough when used when scrubbing sinks, showers and toilets that it requires minimal elbow grease compared to more expensive and toxic cleaners. I discovered the joy of baking soda after attempting to clean a disgusting shower wall. I was surprised at how quickly the grime was removed when using baking soda, so I’ve been continuing to use it ever since. Most home cleaning supplies are full of toxic chemicals which are bad for you and the environment. Baking soda is non-toxic, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly.
